Come and enjoy a day of country racing at its best at Yass Picnics.

Saturday, 3rd March 2018

The Yass Picnic Race Club was founded in 1901. It is one of the oldest picnic race clubs in NSW and maintains the vision of traditional picnic racing.

The Club’s Committee are all volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the year to maintain the track and facilities on behalf of the community. The race day event is conducted by the Club’s Committee and NSW Racing stewards.

The Yass Picnic Races are a six -race meet with the horses competing trained both locally and across regional NSW.

In 2017 40 horses were raced, with a full field of 10 horses in the Cup, which is a significant increase on previous years.

The first race starts at 12.30pm and last race at 5.00pm, with approximately 1500 race-goers enjoying a picture perfect Autumn day at the Marchmont Racecourse. The area has no point of sale of alcohol on the premises, as this encourages people to BYO alcohol and food in a picnic style that is the tradition of the Yass Picnic Races.
