Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing

Tyers Park is the key racing centre for the Central Districts region overall and a vital supplier of race meetings for 2nd tier metropolitan and provincial trained gallopers. Given its location and proximity to Sydney Tyers Park provides the perfect training base for those horses worthy of metropolitan and provincial participation.

The Club holds 12 meetings per year. Major meetings include, Bathurst Cup – Legends Day (February) and BTR’s feature race day Soldiers Saddle (Anzac Day) which bring acclaimed horses, trainers and owners to Bathurst and naturally the crowds follow.  Anzac Day sees in excess of 4,000 people in attendance with live music, the ever popular Fashions on the Field and 2UP.  This race meeting has become an iconic day within the Bathurst community.

Tyers Park has a 1600 meter course circumference with a lengthy 390 meter home straight. However it can boast race starts up to 2000 meters. This makes BTR a key catchment for lower grade Hawkesbury horses and an ever increasing representation from Rosehill and Warwick Farm trainers on all race days throughout the year.
